Football betting tips - short version

1) Offensive Line
2) Defense
3) Coach

Handicap based on those in order of importance and you will win more than you lose.

Too lazy to do that... but, come on now, Holmgren?? oh, okay.... whatever....
Anyway, this has always won me money, and its less to read than your thread (which I apologize I did not read... too many words)

Bob, Kramer's post is very informative. The best information is frequently very boring and difficult to assimilate. Laziness is a sure recipe for failure in sports betting.

I agree. I meant I was too lazy to find any scores to prove my simple yet elegant point. I have always found that the simplest way is quite often the best way. Kramer gave 3 scores from week one to dispute my betting tips and arguably proved my point by bringing up the Superbowl (I wonder if Holmgren had any say in the clock management at the end of each half).
Had I said that these tips work 100% of the time, then he would have proven me wrong. And as far as not reading Kramer's post, I actually have read it before - many years ago in some publication (Football Betting Guide maybe). I agree it is interesting information, but it is a lot to take in. That's why I wanted to contribute something that seems to work very well yet is very simple to digest: O-Line, Defense, Coach:
If you can honestly say that 1 team excells over their opponent in all 3 categories, I think a bet on that team is a very good one (and will win you money more often than not).

Plus Seattle won that Superbowl ATS were it not for the ridiculous bad calls in the game.

Thanks Candy-Man. But I'm going to say that the coach is a higher priority than the QB; depending on the situation.
Considering everything else equal, I'd take a Belichick coached team with a no name quaterback (like say a 6th round draft pick out of Michigan) over a team led by Peyton Manning or some other super star QB.

Okay, I know my example is a bit facetious, and I might be inclined to put the QB 4th depending on the Offense. Remember when the Ravens won the Superbowl? What did they have? -- Defense, Superstar RB (because of the O-Line), and a helluva coach.

Interesting take Bob!
When I cap NFL games, I do factor in those things (not the coach though, yea they do matter, but I don't put them into consideration of which side to choose), but those 3 things don't vary much, if you know what I mean. I think you should come up with a system with those 3 things you listed and see how successful it is this upcoming season

I think you're right. I'll put my money where my mouth is (or my typing fingers) - lets see how this pans out.
I'll call it "Bob's Short Version Plays". Keep it to 2 or 3 per week if that (maybe 1, maybe pass).
Cap every game based on these 3 things and pick the best. See how it goes.
I pretty much do this anyway in my mind, but it might be interesting to actually compare the 3 team-by-team; game-by-game.

I like it. I'm gonna be rich!!
