According to his new memoir "God in My Corner," Foreman claims he was secretly drugged prior to his heavyweight title fight against Ali in the Democratic Republic of Congo (then known as Zaire). The ex-champ claims he was given a strange-tasting cup of water just prior to the fight.
"I almost spit it out ... Man, I know this water has medicine in it," Foreman told his trainer at the time, according to his book. "I climbed into the ring with that medicinal taste still lingering in my mouth ... After the third round, I was as tired as if I had fought 15 rounds. What's going on here? Did someone slip a drug in my water?"
Foreman's trainer denied the water had anything in it. Ali won the fight with an eighth-round knockout.

oh please. Funny how it didn't effect him until after he exhausted himself by punching Ali while he laid on the ropes. All these years later, the phrase "rope-a-dope" seems even more appropriate.

So let me get this straight this fight happened 35 years ago or so but it is now in his memoirs that he claims he was doped up on something See I don't get the feeling that a guy like George Foreman would of kept this quiet for all of these years I guess anything to make a buck

gonna use that grill to make lunch for my granddaughter and i in a few mins. lol

as for the fight tho i remember seeing it live on tv and seen the replays a bunch of times. foreman shot his load and got tired out then ali took him out in the later rounds when foreman ran out of gas. something in the water is a joke. ali got poked in the eye or something from foreman but recovered in between rounds and knocked his azz out.
foreman needs to stick to selling grills. holmes was a better champion than he was by far. love him or hate him ali was a great fighter who took alot of punishment.
