Free to Air setups
I'm looking into setting myself up with FTA but don't really know what type of equipment to buy. I was wondering if anyone has any advise or has any experience using free to air channels. Thanks

Well, I'm not too familiar with what I can actually get. Just from doing a little research I see that I can pick up some basic stuff. I really would like the good stuff though. I just don't know what type of equipment to buy, i.e. dish, cables, reciever.

I am running a Nano2 with dicknet dish and switch. You have to hook it to the net to get Dicknet channels. Now open are all the basic channels,premiums(hbo,sho,ect),5 porn and ppv sports (mma, fights, ect ppv). There are a ton of receivers working wide open on private files. You have to pay for the files on those so I am not running any of them. If you are serious about it I can get your email. It is an expensive hobby. I say hobby because you have to have some knowledge about sats, receivers and software and sometimes it goes down. It is not free tv all the time. Cat and mouse game between you and Chuck. Now true fta there isn't shit on that.

I would love any help I can get. It seems like quite an interesting hobby. Lords knows I need one. Many years ago I had a pretty good set through direct tv by using those cards you put in the receiver. We bought one of those boxes that would be set up to the computer and put credits on the card for ppv and events. It also gave us all the premium channels and such. Every now and again it would just quit and we would have go to the hackers site to reboot the card then eventually it didn't work at all. What do you think my initial investment would be? I have been looking around and it looks like I could start around $200-$300. I would have no problem with you getting my email. It would be cool.

Paul is the system back up and running ? I knew I could connect online and get it that way but I was wondering if N3 was cracked and standalone files are currently available to get my ViewSat back up and running.
Ive been paying ATT over $100 a month for TV the last 12 months and while compared to others thats nothing out of ordinary but to people like me and you that can be considered as $1200 down the drain in the past year ![]() Any info would be great as basically Ive given up hope on N3 getting cracked.

I'm reading something about NFusion Nova. It connects directly to your internet connection via wireless router or LAN connection. Once properly set up can download all the updates it will need for itself. Meaning you will never have to take your receiver to the computer and run all sorts of programs because those programs are now built right into the NFusion Nova and are automatically executed when necessary.

As far as I know no hd is open. Sonic hd says soon but you know how long that can be. Nfusion hd was the best ever but it was very short lived.

Before the N3 hit, I was running a setup with a dish and the viewsat...can I still use that same setup? I left everything the same since it went down.

Should be able but you will need the dongle for IKS. I never ran a view but I think that there is no place for ethernet with out dongle.
