FYI - The mod squad

Hi all - I just wanted to let you know something in case there is some confusion.

Some of you think it's cool or it makes you feel better to dump on the mods at different times for one reason or the other.

Mods are just like most of you, good members who were asked to be a moderator because they are good members and have the forums best interest at heart. Mods, like members have good days and bad days. We have real life stuff, emotions just like everyone else. To insinuate something else is just plain ignorant.

Do mods make mistakes? Of course they do, me included. We are all human and we don't do everything with perfection at all times. Neither do any of you. If you think you are perfect, I challenge you to take a long look in the mirror and really think about that.

I don't think there is a single long term member here who has ever been booted without a 2nd chance. Everyone receives the benefit of doubt many, many times.

It's not members vs the mods. It's all of us together here to discuss sports, handicapping and other topics. Please stop drawing a line. In a perfect world, we would not need moderators. Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world.

Please make comments like that about us mods in private. Paul is a good guy and you guys obviously have some sort of beef that goes back a lot further. You guys need to deal with this is private. we should have a basher mod,, instead of banning some of the problem children, the basher mod would be quick witted and ready break down some of the problematic posters to submission,, since banning isnt always the answer, some just need to be straigtened out at times,, the basher mod would only paint a picture of reality and it would really hurt some of the egos around here, while this is probably a terrible idea and would lead to many problems it would surley be fun to watch, and i thank you jack for considering the idea

You are absolutely right.....mods are like any other members of CM.....EXCEPT.....they have been given executive powers that the rest of the membership does NOT have.

Therefore, one would expect these mods to act in a manner above and beyond that of the regular membership at all times.

That is...not to get into pissing matches with members and direct snide remarks towards members.

However, if they wish to do get into pissing matches with the membership, then perhaps they should relinquish the title "moderator" first.

Great write-up Dr. Jack! The only thing i will say is people think about the consequences before you type and hit the submit reply button! One more thing.
