Germany, Should I go ? Need your opinions
ok, here is the deal.
My wife has a work thing that takes her and some of the uppity ups from her hospital to Germany this summer. Nuremberg, to be more precise. Room and board is all paid for and her flight is as well. Spouses need only to pay for the flight. The flight is something like 19 hours !! She is in meetings for 3 days and on those days the spouses have planned and paid for excursions , site seeing events. Then we all meet up for paid for suppers. I think we get a day on each side of the three days of meetings for her to do as we wish. Guess I can't really say that I am all excited to even go. What is there besides eerie concentration camps ?? Do I even want to be on some site seeing trips with some rich spouses ? Ok maybe I need to further think that one. I am not sure if it will even hack my wife off if I decide that I don't want to go. Has anyone been in that area and if so, what is there to see ? thanks |

Never been to Germany, but I would go under the circumstances you mentioned. Think of it as a work vacation with your wife. Not to mention all the different German food and sites

I flew there in about 7hrs from Toronto. I don't see how it could possible be that long for you. Very expensive country for the most part but if the hotels are paid for it shouldn't be that bad.

Would not want to go to Germany but if its not going to cost you a lot then why not go. Remember that in Germany if you look at people the wrong way they throw you in jail. Don't worry though because by the time you get out you can become a porno star in the states. Best of luck and enjoy the club.

yeah that is what i was thinking...remember flying from tulsa to frankfurt with stop in chicago and was something like 10 hrs...and if memory serves me correctly frankfurt to houston was somewhere around 10 or so...so shouldn't be that bad man...if you are on a non american airliner you get free booze

am i missing something here?
why is are you even asking about this? you get paid dinners, paid for excursions while you're wife has to work???? do u have to miss out on work???? will you be losing any money at home if you go? if the answer is no, then you better go! a 10 or 12 hour plane ride is not an excuse not to go travel for almost free. if you want to ever leave the continent, you will probably have to take a plane ride longer than a couple hours. and i hope the stereotype of germany is actually you guys trying to be funny.
