Girl Scores 113 Points In High School Basketball Game

It might only be high school but anyone scoring 113 is awesome. Especially for a girl:

Rutgers signee breaks Miller's HS girls scoring record

Epiphanny Prince, a 5-foot-9 senior, shattered the all-time national high school girls basketball scoring record Wednesday with an incredible 113 points as Manhattan's Murry Bergtraum routed Louis Brandeis 137-32.

The previous record of 105 points was set by Cheryl Miller of Riverside Poly in 1982. Lisa Leslie also topped the century mark with 101 for Inglewood Morningside in 1990. Both schools are in Southern California.

Coach Ed Grezinsky noted, "We didn't start off like that to set a record], but she had 58 at halftime. At that point, I said, 'Just let her go.'"

Prince, who has signed with Rutgers, drilled 54 of her 60 shots from the field -- many on fast-break layups -- and three of four free throws. She scored 38 points in the first quarter, 20 in the second, 25 in the third and 30 in the fourth.

"It's just amazing to me," Prince told SI.com. "My best game had been 55 points in eighth grade. Even when they gave me the ball [constantly in the second half], they [Brandeis defenders] didn't converge on me. They reacted very slow, so I just kept on going to the basket."

So how was she planning to celebrate? "I'm about to go to Rutgers to see them play St. John's," she replied. The steak dinner can wait

I Remember Lisa Leslie Scoring 100 Points In A Half But The Other Team Would Not Play The 2nd Half.

I don't like that the other team only had 37 points...she is obviously the star player, and this was running up the score, and leaving ur best player in the game selfishly....unless her team has no reserves ...this shouldn't happen in high school basketball....jeers to the coaching staff

I agree with you on Illuminati. A couple years ago when I was playing High School football my runningback was one of the top recruits in the nation. He broke the state record by rushing for 465 yards and 6 touchdowns. However, this was at the half. We didn't step foot back on the field. The junior varsity played the whole second half. We could have scored every other play and he would have ran for over 1000 yards and 14 touchdowns, but thats not what high school sports is about.

just to add to Illuminati's comment, this doesn't bode well for the confidence level of the losing team. To have to go down in History but on the negative side. Its ridiculous.

Even though VC is not someone that should be idolized, what he said about Kobe's 81 pts is correct.

At least it's not Miller's record any more. Can't stand her.
