He's an icon here in Texas. He was my idol growing up and is a HUGE part of the pitching montra here... Get used to it... He's one of the greatest pitchers of ALL time.

We've suffered a LONG time here in Texas with shitty baseball.... Give the man his due. We are ecstatic!

the legend that is Nolan Ryan is a big reason the Rangers have turned the franchise into the best team in baseball.....his "mug" shots are well deserved and they should keep em coming

OK boys... obv touched a nerve hear so sorry for the rant...

I was born in Houston and was an Astro fan (still am second to the Rangers of course). I moved to Dallas in 86 the same time Nolan became a Ranger. I told my dad that I couldn't possibly be a Ranger fan - THEY SUCKED! I was accustomed to going to see the Rangers only when the best pitcher was pitching (Nolan, J.R. Richard, Mike Scott). So, when I got to Texas the obv only time to go to a Ranger game was when Nolan pitched. The stadium was ALWAYS packed when he pitched as opposed to others...

The Rangers have always had a (excuse me) pussy mentality especially when it came to pitching... The ERA was huge here. The heat unbearable. The fact was... the pitching staff sucked in general. Nolan has changed that mentality.

Now, on to Nolan as a President/Owner... We have long suffered with Tom Hicks being the owner and runnign our club into the ground... I never miss a game on TV, but for the last three years of his ownership, I refused to go to a game. I refused to give him any of my money. I kept watching our shitty team.

So, it is VERY refreshing and feels great. Nolan (as well as Daniels) deserves immense credit. He has run very successful minor league operations, so I feel credit is deserved.
