never been to canada, but I bought the wife a pair of diamond earrings for $400 that my cousin said were worth a grand. he's in the diamond biz, you can get some really good deals on watches & diamonds, etc..... all the liquor is pretty cheap too.

the area is called Charlotte Amalie. I believe everything, or most things are duty free in that zone.

where are you staying? you can take a day trip to virgin gorda, pretty nice boat with stops for snorkeling. Take the ferry over to St. John's. Go to trunk bay & cinnamon bay. pretty nice. There's also other booze cruises, catamarans,(sp) or sailboats that take parties around the islands. Also, at the ports where a the ships dock, there are some shops & a gondola that will take you to the highest part of the island. Kinda neat, but after 5 minutes, you've seen it.

also,, take a ferry or boat to british virgin islands. about 1-2 hours away depending on what boat. there you can hit the casinos.

that's about all we did, was there for 10 days.

I got a watch when I was in St. Thomas. $200 retail for around $100. Like people said, there are tons of jewerly places there. Shop around for the best price. You can also haggle too.
