Congratulations Chris.....

There will always be "Final Fours"......but there is only ONE wedding night.

I just want to make sure your thread has at least one reply.

nevermind, you are going with the wedding party. I should read more before I respond.my original post was about guy things.

went there with large couples group, and basiclly when i wasn't at a table, we really did the sight seeing thing. kinda lame, but it's still something you gotta do once, and it makes better with a big group.

do downtown to the horshoe, golden nugget, do the whole freemont experience. find a casino rep where you are staying and get tickets to one of the magic or comedy shows, always a group friendly thing. helcopter rides around vegas at nighy was different.

thats about all I got. congrats man

Just got back yesterday. If you like thrill rides, the 3 rides at the top of the Straosphere is a must! They were awesome.

-Deep Fried Twinkies and Oreos- not for the Atkins Diet set, but can be found in the dive on the corner. Stay away from the tightest slots north of the airport though.

-Neonopolis- or as the locals like to call it "Neonflopolis". Come see eminent domain and taxpayer abuse at its worst. This thing was supposed to be the "next big thing" downtown. Now it's basically an empty shell.

-World Famous Cocktail Shrimp- Still $0.99 at the Golden Gate, where a buck more can get you a draft to wash it down. They've served 8 billion I think and it's a Vegas institution. At nighttime, there's a man tinkling the ivories to make you think just for a moment gambling might be second place.

-Fremont Street Experience- wherever you are, just look up. Downtown revival idea number 1, yeah it's kinda neato in a Disneyland on acid sorta way.

- Wall of Champions- a shrine for the aspiring Moneymaker or Raymer in all of us. See Stuey, Dolly and Chan among others in the Binion's poker room, then close your eyes and envision your mug joining them. Chances are a homeless bum will bump into you and snap you out of your delusions, donkey!

-El Cortez/Western corridor or "running the gauntlet"- see how the other half lives in Vegas. The half that sells their plasma for their penny slot bankroll. Do this during the day, not at night, unless you are an adrenaline junkie (or plain old junkie for that matter).

-Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens- for my money the finest restaurant in this city of overpriced restaurants. Old school where all the ladies still get a rose, and the service and food are impeccable. Save for that big night of bankroll busting gastronomy.

-Vegas Vic and Sassy Sally- two Vegas icons, you know the cowboy and cowgirl are prominently on display inside Fremont Street. Vic entices you to visit the Glitter Gulch strip club below, but trust me stay away. There are much better choices.

-Triple George Bar & Hogs 'n' Heifers - downtown's latest revival attempt at spicing up the nightlife. Just a hop and jump from the now defunct Lady Luck and the "legendary" Gold Spike (featuring Penny slots) these two are a worthy venture away from the Fremont hustle and bustle.

- Piss on the Berlin Wall- there are about 20 places in America that have pieces of the Berlin Wall on display. Esteemed locations such as Microsoft Headquarters, the Smithsonian, and Museum of Modern History are joined by....drumroll... the Men's Room at Main Street Station Grab a delicious MSS Microbrew and then shake the dew off the lilies as you piss on the fall of East Germany.

Stay away from Fremont St. If anything is overrated that is it. You are better off just going up and down the strip especially if it is your first time there. All Fremont Street is is a bunch of old hotels with a show that goes on above your head for 5 minutes every half hour. Plus getting there will take you through a pretty scummy stretch of town.
