Is Golf a "sport" and is Tiger an "athlete"

Bad example. 60 year olds are still playing and making money. Tiger makes more in three tourney than most athletes make in a year. He certainly will go down as one of the greatest athletes of all time, if not the greatest. Is driving a car in a circle a sport, especially with air conditioning, power steering, and someone telling you where to place your vehicle on every turn? Is pounding someone into submission a sport? Does sitting on a bench and playing one play in a football season make you an athlete? Golfers have to PLAY, something that many athletes in other sports do not have to do on a regular basis.

Its not a sport if there is no gender separation.
