Cool Are golfers athletes?

I mean no disrespect to golf but I saw on ESPN they were asking if Tiger Woods is the best athlete of all time.

I don’t understand how Tiger Woods, golf and athlete can be used together.

I think it’s one of them things that make you say HMMMMM

It's not a sport that takes an incredible amount of endurance or strength but it does require a lot of skill. I think golf is a sport and golfers are atheletes. Now, whether or not Tiger is the greatest athelete of all time? Not sure about that.

If you call a DH in MLB a athlete how can a golfer not be an athlete.. They both do the exact same thing .... Hit a ball... One ball is moving and one is sitting still... Trust me if you think its easy to hit it because it sits there TRY IT... Yea a DH may have to run some but Tiger could outrun 90% of the guys who DH... Golf takes tremendous hand to eye skills ( much like a baseball hitter) The pressure is very intense and draining also when playing Professional golf.. Any one that has even played in local tournies can tell you how 18 holes of GRIND golf ( not just going out and shooting 80 at the munies with your friends sucking down beers) can be a grind both on the physical and mental front.. Yes in my book..

11 years, so must have an understanding of the skill that golf takes, especially to be a scratch golfer. What was your handicapp?

Golf and Nascar, to things people call sports and why I will never know... Boring as all hell !!, Best way to take a nap, turn on golf or a nascar race. A sleep in less then 5 minutes and thats after a cup of coffee.

Tiger Woods is an athlete. Golfers aren't athlete.

There is a reason Woods dominates. He's the best "athlete" on tour.

Webster dictionary

Athlete: a person who is trained or skilled in exercises, sports, or games requiring physical strength, agility, or stamina

According to this definition, the answer is Yes.

This makes no sense. Either they all are or they all aren't.
