Gonna quit drinking

I decided to take the plunge and stop drinking. I am not the type of person that can go out and have a social drink. I have to drink till I am blind every time I go out. This has been the cause of many bad choices I have made in my life. I feel that more bad has become of drinking then good. Drinking also has been taking a real bad toll on my body and health, from 3 day hang overs to sleeping for 19 hours str8 and still feeling like death.

If I do not stop now I feel it will become a major problem, if it has not already. This is going to be a hard thing for me to do, with football just around the corner. I do feel it is something that must be done. I will keep everyone updated on how I do.

Red, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I wish you all the best. Tell you one thing that has worked for me when I have tried to "break" a habit I want to discard. Find yourself a good accountability partner--someone who will help hold your nose to the grindstone but work hard to encouraage you and support you. It wont be easy goin it alone.

Please keep us updated on your progress if you feel it will help. I will pay attention should you decide to do so.

Thanks for your kind words and well wishes in my thread. I appreciate it very much.

Very well thought out and intelligent post, Red.

Best of luck to you in dealing with your addiction. Seems to me that you have figured out what works and what doesn't.

Good luck with everything. I needed a break and so did my liver, so I stopped for 50 days. I felt so much better and I'm sure you'll notice a difference in a couple weeks. You will also save a ton of cash too!

Goodluck buddy!
