Grade Roger Goodell on his performance as a commissioner

If you had to give him a grade what would it be?

He seems to be most obsessed with sucking any personality and fun out of the game.

I gave him a B for being consistent with punishments from Vick to Big Ben. However, I do agree these fines for hits is going waaaaay to far. This is a collision & violent sport, and the players know what they are signing up for when they play football.

His disciplinary policy is good, but he acts only to the benefit of the owners and policies like the 18 game reg season are prime examples. I hear nothing about players being comped for 2 more games. He only seems to care about owners and pr. It's also not the players fault the nfl wants to pretend its not a violent sport....but he fines them for the pr. They fine players to cover their bigger problem of head injuries killing off football altogether.

i like what he's trying to do more than he has necessarily done.....think he's got potential....troy had a point that he's got too much power and there should be some player/coach involvement in this decision but seems like the type of guy who would actually consider something like that

don't really have any issues with him, certainly could do a hell of a lot worse

b, genrally a good commish, its natural he acts in the best of interest of the owners

thats who works for and they elected him

he will ultimately be judged on whether he can reach an agreement with the players association and avoid a lockout

the issues of the fines is a media thing, its not even a real concern

Look at the end of the Indy game the other day. The hit, or tap to P Mannings head was a spook call. The Refs are spooked. The Hit on Collie was not a flagged hit, but the ref looked over and saw a player not moving and threw the flag. The refs are spooked. Its goona get worse before it gets better. Blame Godell. Water down the game to advoid injuries so that we can make more money with the 18 games..It becoming a joke, what really has he done to get a or b grade.

most anyone would or could get an agreement with the players association and avoid a lockout, so not sure thats his test.

The guy has WAY to much power and he needs to be slapped down a bit. The new rules he has pushed into the NFL is going to ruin the game for fans. In the end his new stupid rule will cost someone in the playoffs and or SuperBowl.
