"Great" start to the year

so its been quite the start to the year.

dec 31st. i have an emergency appendectomy.

jan 2nd. First time i get up after surgery. My car is broken into. completely cleaned out including SS card, passport, CCs, debit cards, check book, you name it.

Jan 15th. My brother is rushed to the hospital with a seriously inflamed spleen. Turned out to be Mono. So he lost his job and can barely afford college now.

Feb 1st. My wifes grandmother gets hit by a car as she is crossing the street. Some brain damage. Cant live alone anymore, we are still dealing with how/who is going to take care of her, etc.

Its been so f-ing hectic I barely watched the SB and havent had action on anything. Its funny how you get some perspective, so much for getting "pissed" at losing a wager or your team losing.

Anyway, at the beginning I was of the thought "hey, great lets get this bad luck shit out of the way, should be a great year". And now I am just waiting for the next show to drop.

Who else having a fun year already?
do you believe in things balancing out? bad year at the beginning, some good things will happen later.

thoughts?

Have been thru same types of trying times in my life time, Zoom. Have come to realize there is always a positive way to work thru them as well as a negative one. Real hard to see the positives while you are in the midst of the trails and tribulations.

Will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Be grateful for what you have.

If the stuff that happened to you put things in perspective which is the grand scheme of things is still mostly very minor in reality.

The grandmother thing is pretty unfortunate but if thats the worst thing that has happened id say your having a pretty good year.

Be thankful...life is good and possibly short.

Thanks guys. I didnt mean this to come through as it did. Like it was said above, if this is the worst then it is all not that bad. I know other people, including posters here, have had way worse things happen recently so no point in stressing over it. It is just tiring, but in the grand schema of things, it is fairly petty.

My post was more about what your view is on stuff balancing out etc.
Like if you have a great first couple of months, do you expect things to maybe take a hit later on? Like Karma catching up, etc?
