Grill Recommendation

hey grillmasters, looking to get a new grill; i have not had to buy a grill in 9 years; any opinions on what grill is the best?

im not looking to buy a cheapo, but i also dont need a very expensive grill. I dont care for brand name as long as it does the job well; which means no hot/cold spots. 4 burners would be best. a side burner would be a plus. I prefer that is easy to convert from LP to natural gas. Stainless steel would be preferred as well; as long as it is quality steel and wont rust inside or outside.

Some of the obvious features: temperature gauge, automatic ignition, large cooking surface.

thoughts?

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, I'd get one at Walmart. You could get all those obvious features on a decent grill for less than a few hundred bucks.

any recommendations on brands?
obviously webers are nice, but i feel they are overpriced.

I think mine is a Brinkman. We grill 4-5 times a week and works perfect

I love to grill and go to a lot of parties where people are grilling and the problem is always the same -- people cheaped out on their grill and have to fight the hot and cold spots and instead of being easy and fun they are battling all day and apologizing if something isn't right

after seeing that, i lived at a place i rented where the owner bought a weber genesis s-310 (no side burner, that's the 320). The grill is not cheap, I think it's $600-700, but it's big, has 3 strong burners, and grills perfectly front to back and side to side.

I looked a long time. There are ones more expensive, less expensive, but honestly, this is the price you must pay if you want a grill that truly is worthy of say 10-20 years of quality use without having to replace anything except maybe a grate.

Check them out, http://weber.com/grills/?glid=2&mid=3

It's a little bigger than a standard grill, but no so big that cooking for 1-2 people is ridiculous. Honestly I think it's the perfect grill. Weber was created right here in the area and have always made some of the best grills, charcoal included

thanks gfoots.

I heard great things about the genesis. it is definitely one i was looking at; i dont want to cheap out but 700 its a little high for a grill. i completely understand what you are saying though. For the price i would like to get a little more though, like a side burner.

does any one have any experience with Kenmore?

sears seems to have a ton of them, and it looks like good value. only question is if it cooks evenly or not.

Go to www.lowes.com and in the search box top right type in grills. If you

see something you like and also find the same grill with the same model

number at any other store, Lowe`s will sell it to you for the cheaper price of

a competitor and also give you 10% off on the cheaper price. It`s true I

have done it before and a lot of people don`t know this.
