i completely agree with you... less guns does not mean less crime

here in the US, the Clinton Act banned assault weapons from 1994 - 2004. The violent crime rate actually rose. Also, there are 70 million more guns in America now than in 1990, and the violent crime rate is actually down 10%

but don't tell the liberals that

WHat is an "assault"rifle anyway. I know about semi-automatic magazine fed rifles but I know nothing about this "assault" rifle you speak of. I also know of the AK-47 series of rifles which is the most widely produced gun of any kind in the world today.

by the way, i'm from Chicago... i had a close friend of mine shot 6 times, die, and have the 15 year old who killed him only get 6 years because he's a "minor". He'll be out when he's 21

I don't blame the gun, I blame the kid

An AK-47 is your basic assault rifle and most common. The SKS is one also that is widely used.

Basically the ability to have a high count magazine and the ability to covert to an automatic weapon

How does the SKS fall into the category of assault rifle? It is clearly not because of the magazine (it does not have a removable magazine it uses stripper clips which load from the top) nor is it available or "convertable" to fully automatic.

I think the SKS falls into the category of collectible or antique seeing as they were most widely produced in the 40's and noone uses them anymore.
