Sneak preview review
I saw 'Halloween' at a special sneak preview last night and I really enjoyed it...a lot: One of the best, scariest, and brutal horror movies I have ever seen in my entire life. It is longer than the original, so it holds more terror and blood than ever before. And it's a lot more bloody than the original...in fact bloodier than all of them, if you can imagine that.
But it's directed by Rob Zombie, so what do you expect? In the original, they left a lot of the blood flow to your imagination, but in this terrifying remake, there is more blood than you would expect...even if it is directed by Zombie. It is very brutal and bloody and terrorizing. But it's 2007, so what do you expect? A lot of people think that this movie would totally suck...but they're totally wrong. This Halloween is better than the original. Rob Zombie really brought it into modern times and extended it, bringing more and more modern things as the movie goes along. The girls are hotter than the original (well, duh), and there are more details about even the little things in the remake than in the original. There is a lot more behind Michael Myers in this movie than in the original. There are a lot more details about how he became a sicko-killer, and about why he is doing all of this. Rob Zombie seemed to know what he was doing. This film will make a lot of money, I can guarantee it. This is a big deal and a big remake. Rob Zombie really invented a legend. It is a lot better than the original...a lot better. If Rob Zombie continues to direct, I'm looking forward to sequels! Official MPAA rating: R: Strong Brutal Bloody Violence and Terror Throughout, Sexual Content, Graphic Nudity, and Language My MPAA rating: R: Strong Brutal Bloody Violence and Terror Throughout, Sexual Content/Nudity, and Language My Canadian rating: R: Brutal Violence, Gory Scenes, Sexual Content, Coarse Language |

Saw the matinee today. GREAT MOVIE!!!
It may be sacreligious to say, but this is the movie that John Carpenter wanted to make. So much better than the original; true to the story line yet much more character development on all fronts. More nudity, brutality, violence, evil, and a great score!!! In the words of Billy Bob: I give it a TEN, a TEN, a F*CKIN' TEN!!!!! Do yourself a favor and see this flick NOW!!!!! |

I'm not sure if I like Rob Zombie using the same actors - its a bit distracting; but otherwise great acting in this movie. I watched the original last night and other than Jamie Lee the acting was atrocious. In this version I swear Scout got me misty-eyed with her brilliant performance; she should be (or will be soon) an Oscar winner!!

Seth: Gimme that. Alright, you look like a future pedophile in this picture, number 1. Number 2: it doesn't even have a first name, it just says "McLovin"! Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal? Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man? Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright? |

I hope he continues directing. In my book he is already up there with the C's (Carpenter, Cronenberg, Craven) and the likes of Landis, Lynch, Fulci, Argento, Hooper, Stanley, and Jackson. And keep rockin'!!! -- Educated Horses kicked ass too! |

Just read a lot of nudity and a rape scene was cut to achieve an "R" rating.
Here's looking forward to the DVD!! |
