Has gambling numbed your routing interest as a fan?

For me, without a doubt, yes it has. Despite my handle, I could really care less what happens to the Hoos, in fact I can only name one player on their basketball team (Landenburg), and honestly gun to head, couldn't name one player on their football team.

A far cry from the way I use to be, but being a degenerate has basically desensitized my emotions.

The only team I still would consider to have a passion for is the Yankees. Don't care about the Redskins, Cavaliers, or Lakers like I use to.

Its numbed my interest in what used to be my favourite team, but it also raised my interest in teams I used to not care about at all.

Before I started betting, as a kid I followed sport closely and loved it.
Now after 16 years of betting, I'll only watch sport If I have money on that game, or am betting live. No money on game or no desire to bet live and I won't watch.

I won't watch a game without a bet on it. I bet the TT or game total rather than bet against my favorite team. Gambling has made me a better fan and more knowledgable one.

Yeah a little bit for sure. Between gambling & fantasy football I don't think years ago I hoped for the Dolphins to win but the opponent score enough to go over or that the RB on other team rushes for 100 & scores two TD's because he's on my fantasy team.

Still a fan though but yes it has made a difference. Good thread

Usually if it's my team and I want to watch I don't bet it because I don't want to be aligned different than the team (i.e. i have to win by 7 but the team only cares about winning).

If it is not my team, I actually tend not to watch the game. It's an investment that I choose to make either following someone else, my own system or capping a game. In those cases I don't like the stress and tend to see the score when it's over...or do the flip-check and stress

so if i watch a game i tend to prefer not to have a bet on it...strange bird i may be
