I swear those cables are nothing but a myth. It doesn't improve crap in my opinion.

go to amazon or yahoo shopping or wherever and buy the cheapest / bestselling option they have. hdmi cables send a digital signal so the cheap ones are just as good as the expensive ones. the only thing you can argue for the more expensive cables is that they may be more durable.

IMO also, spend the extra money on the cables. You will not regret it. I mean you probably spent around 5,000 on the TV, what is another 100 to make your picture the best it could possibly be. That is why you bought it in the first place.

I buy most of my electronics off of newegg and they've been incredible. They also have a lifetime user rating of about 9.8/10.

I was told by the (verizon) intallation guy that most cable companies supply those for free - Time Warner charges $40. I would call your cable/sattelite company to make sure before you buy them. I didn't buy mine - verizon supplied it.

get all your wires at monoprice.com. At whoever says that the more you spend on wires, the better thats fcking bullshit. I buy the cheapest cable and have the best picture outta all my friends and stores tv and my tv's around 4 years old.

this is not about video wires but read this and it pretty much sums up the ripoff the electronic companies try to sell you...

Hey fellas, dropped by and saw this thread.

I work for an IT Company and I have had talks about this with our techs here. Basically came to the conclusion that if you buy cables (ex: Monster), you are getting ripped off. All these cables do is transfer data.

It does not matter if it is gold tipped, heavier insulation, blah blah....these are just marketing schemes to trick typical consumers that have no idea what it really does.

As you can see, it has been working. Do not pay over 50 bucks for HDMI cables..someone here did mention of mono(something website) and they are good cables for cheap. I personally only bought Monster cables when I purchased my Home Theater System since I did not want to wait for shipping. That would be my one and only time I spend over 50 for HDMI cables.

Hope this helps. Marketing is a powerful weapon but your knowledge overcomes all.
