I haven't had it in 3 years since I started working for myself.
I didn't take Cobra after leaving Target Corporation, then broke my leg a month later and developed massive blood clots. Then broke my leg, yet again! 2008 was the worst year of my life, bar none.

The price I pay for anything now is the same as anyone with insurance.
They give me the insurance rate, so I pay the same as anyone else.
That's for all of my doctors, they are all doing the same thing.
Those doctors say they do this for about 20-25% of their patients.
Prescriptions are easy to get, but I do not take pain killers, preferring the "greens" for the pain if any.

I paid every one of my bills, so I am not dodging them or asking for 100% assistance, like most non-insured. This is why I believe my 3-4 doctors I see work with me, because I was honest and I pay my bills in full every month.

Now that Obamacare has come along, they cover me for all of my preexisting conditions, so I am going to switch over in April, when my lady's policy starts a new year. My friend runs his own company and says this would save us both money, so a couple more months cannot hurt.

She works as a dental hygienist. We do not need Dental.
Her sister is an optometrist. We do not need Vision.
So, I'll be fully covered again in April.

If it was me starting over 1/1/2008, I would chose to bypass Cobra and should have got my own insurance like my woman, but I made a bad choice.
I was invincible, well until those clots, that's what killed it for me, at 29.

I rolled the dice when I was younger, but today I wouldn't dream of it. I hurt my knee 2 months ago, the MRI bill was 2 dimes by itself. Who knows how much the surgery will cost.....

not getting insurance is just silly. it wont take much to put you in a big hole.

hell I have insurance and had an appendectomy last week. If i didnt have it, it would have cost me north of 4-5k. and that was only 1 night stay at the hospital and a 30 min operation.

pay up your $100/mo and forget about it.

Health Insurance, unreal what they do to the unhealthy. I have been in business for myself for 20 years. Because of my poor health since birth they literally bend me over in California for health insurance. But I have to have because the last time I went in they spent over a million dollars on me. What a waste of money. My share was god awful. I will never go with out health insurance because if I did not have it when I got sick my family would have lost our home and everything else that we have. I don't advice anyone to go with out it. If you are single then its a different game. If you have kids the game changes. I get ass raped every 3 months. Makes me sick to make that payment. But your phucked if you do and your phucked if you don't.

Age has nothing to do with when you get insurance. Believe it or not young people get sick to. Telling someone to take the chance is like gambling with someone elses money. Very poor advice.

Aren't you assuming he doesn't have money? Again, no one should tell someone else not to get health insurance. Your basically gambling with their life. Sorry Deck but I believe everyone should have health insurance and if you are going to give out poor advice I have to make sure they here the other side. If something happened to him and he ended up in the poor house wouldn't you then feel bad. Sorry but I thought your advice was piss poor.

How so, you don't pay taxes? Don't for one second think it's free, you are definitely paying for it.

As far as people having the choice of getting coverage or not, just get it. Who needs the aggravation? You are paying for piece of mind, and if disaster does strike, your worries are much less. The notion of cutting back to get ahead is an admirable one, but there are definitely some other things that are far more frivolous and can be done without, not health insurance. Why risk ruining yourself and/or your family to save a few bucks?

Deck, LMAO, have a nice day. Again, if you give out piss poor advice this is what happens. Your not above anyone at the Mall. Disrespectful ? LMFAO. You call me names over and over again and I am the one that is disrespectful. LMAO By the way I have no respect for you so nothing lost here. Stop gambling with other peoples lives its not anyones place to tell another person they dont need health insurance.
