I concur. Rapid hearing loss over such a short span of time would indicate some sort of detrimental health event. The earlier it can be diagnosed the better chance of it being rectified or at least mitigated.

Go see your primary care physician and if necessary get a referral to an otolaryngologist (ear/nose/throat specialist).

Many people that used headphones to listen to music (whether Rock or Classical music) 20-30 years ago have hearing problems now...actually many say after 5-10 years started noticing a considerable difference.

Once you damage or break the high/low sensory nerve fibres inside your ear that's it--they do not grow back so it's irreversible. Will need a hearing aid here.

Also, by cleaning the ear wax with a Q-tip cotton pushes some wax to the ear drum...piles up after a while. Happened to me when i was a teen. What the clinic did was put a solution in the ear to soften the wax into a small ball and sucked it out with a mini vacuum. When I walked out of the clinic i could hear some stuff that was happening three blocks away!!!

Anyways, best bet is don't use any headphones/earphones or hatever other device to listen to music.
