how do these work? Like i heard on Rome the other day that the 21 year old just won another WSOP. Do they have these like everyday? or multiple times a week? Obviously they are not as big as the WSOP, which I think is once a year correct?

the whole competition is called the wsop cat but there's many, many different events covering the multiple games of poker.
http://www.launchpoker.com/wsop/wsop...wsop-shedule-/

the big one is the main event which has a $10k buy in and will attract close to 10,000 people this year.

good for hellmuth winning his 10th, but the story this year is the kid jeff madsen. He's in another final table but the short stack at 99,000...4th place is at 110,000 so he's still in it, at the 7 card stud high-low event.

8 hours a day? they'll be playing upwards of 19 hours per day gonna take about a week to weed down to the final table.

that's why when you watch the event and you see guys looking haggard and completely out of it, it's because they're running on like 3 hours of sleep.

There are 8000 entrants , $10,000 buy in each to wsop...
that's 80 mil by my math and howmuch is the
payouts ?

that's why you see so many newbees winning
its like a lottery now

but Chip Reese won the $50,000 Horse buy in,
$1.7 mil pay out
and is considered this years real winner among the pros ...
