Help ? Is this craiglist scam ?

I posted something for sale on craigslist, and I got this response

Email 1:

Hello,

Is this item still for sale?

Reply ASAP.
Daniel.

** Now I have been so busy forgot to check email and didnt get back to him till 5days later. I told him it was still for sale and he replied back with this...

Email 2:

Thanks for the response.I am willing to pay your asking price.I will pay by a money order as its the only way i can pay you at the moment.I will make arrangement for the pickup after payment have been received by you.I don't mind adding an extra $30 so you can keep it in my favor.I would have loved to come take a look at it but i am presently out of town, send me some pictures.Reply with your name, phone # and mailing address where payment will be sent.I will let you know how i intend to pick it up.Please take the posting off craigslist today and consider it sold to me.

Expecting to hear from you soon.
Warm Regards.

Scam. My friend was selling a $125 Keurig coffee maker and someone sent a similar e-mail. It went further...when the "check" arrived it was for over $2,500 dollars. My friend shut it down right there...no doubt the scammer was gonna ask for my friend to cash the check and send the difference. Total scam.

1 they could be trying to get your info or some shit..

2 they could just go the check route like poster mentioned and ask you to give them difference...

yea ? I created a separate email just to post this on clist...

I did just reply to him asking his location and stuff. I will see what he responds with...

The other part that makes me think scam is the first email he sent to me was 7pm, and his other reply was 4am. Most people wouldn't check emails in that different span, but then again more people using internet and longer than they use to.. not to mention email on phone... hmmm

See what happens with the asking for difference.

The only thought that crossed my mind was if they steal someones CC, and buy MO with it... but even then I would still have my money right.

You take the $2500 check to your bank, deposit it into your checking account, withdraw it the next day, send him his $2200, then a week later your bank tells you that check bounced and your checking account is now -$2200

YEa.. Well of course I was only going to send/allow pickup once the check or MO cleared for sure, but then if it doesn't don't wanna get hit with a fee either. So yea guess I will just shut it down here lol..

Lets see what he replies with next though ;)
