Question High School Basketball

How many get into High School Basketball that much. I am a coach at a local school in my area and this weekend is the Ohio High School State Tournament at the Schott. I will be down there with every other coach watching great games and of course drinking our share of beer. Just curious if anyone else in other states are big on this and I know there are a select few from Ohio on this forum, so do you guys attend?

Normally I attend 10-20 games a year in Indiana. If they are close, and usually they are, I will check out kids or teams that are supposed to be in the tops of the nation. Recently I have had a chance to see Oden and Connely with their Lawrence North Team. Last year I went to see Eric Gordan that is arguable the best kid this year. In the past, I have attended a huge tournament in Indy that brought in Shaun Livingston and Joe Crawford of Kentucky. The Indiana state final is this weekend. In Indiana they are still trying to deal with the "leaving" single class system to the multiclass system. I will probably just watch it on TV Saturday.

Yeah I have heard alot about Eric Gordan this year. Did he commit to any college yet? I wouldnt mind Ohio State taking another Indiana kid, because we are blessed with Oden and Connely. Ohio has a great player in Kosta Koufos (sp?) from Canton Glenoak. Hes a 7'2" dirk Nowitzki type player going to the buckeyes next year. Also, going to the bucks is Jon Diebler who is prolly the best shooter in this years class. He past Jay Burson this year as the all-time leading scorer in Ohio. The bucks should be good again next year.

He gave a verbal commitment to Illinois initially, but then Kelvin Samsung came to Indiana and he changed his mind. I think he should of went to Texas Tech, but what do I know.

Our best player is a McDonald's High School All American and has committed to Kansas next year

Yeah playing for coach knight would not have been a bad choice at all, especially seeing how he is an Ohio boy.

Kentucky and I think Hawaii are the only two left that have a one class state tournament...Kentucky actually has a school that has 87 kids in the school. They are in the sweet sixteen which mean that all their games from now will be in Rupp. Good article in todays USA Today.

No Bloomington Jefferson is the school, Cole Aldrich is his name

Isaiah Dahlman from Braham is at Michigan State, probably why you have heard of them. They are in the tourney also, but the smaller school tourney
