Hip Hop Recommendations??

Listen, I am a music lover but grew up in the awful 70's-80's timeframe that transitioned from the best of hard rock to disco (!) to glam rock ( ) to Rap to Hip Hop (?)

To be honest, I don't really even know what hip-hop is, but I am open to most musical styles. Can anybody recommend a CD or two that is just so good it'll make me want to hear more?

I have heard some NWA, I remember when they had those awesome songs in their intro album that was pretty sweet!

What is the difference guys between rap and hip-hop? They seem similiar..

hip hop sucks man, if u want to find the good shit from the glam rock era, check out some T. Rex, marc bolan (God rest his soul) was an unbelievable performer, my favorites are bang a gong, ride a white swan, hot love, and children of a revolution. And along the lines of glam rock, check out LOUIS XIV they are a band of todays time, and they are absolutely phenomenal, there whole first album is a classic, before they were LOUIS XIV they were called CONVOY if you can find some of their stuff ur in for a treat.
