How come as old as you get, breaking up with someone

Always feels like the end of the world?

My long term girlfriend and I broke up last night just as we were planning
to go to Vegas for the weekend

Now I am staying home, what a letdown.

Alot of reasons, but you think something like this gets easier when you get older, and it really doesn't

No matter how old you get, it never gets easy if you care for someone. Sorry to hear the bad news Gerk. Hang tuff things have a way of working themselves out.

Having strong feelings and emotions help define us a human beings. Even though we get older, wiser, perhaps even a bit hardened by life experiences, it is our heart and soul that remains genuinely open too all that life has to offer...the good and the bad.

I suspect that you probably had many "high" moments with your woman and now you are experiencing a "low". However things turn out for you, cherish those good moments. You'll look back on them fondly, I guarantee it.

I think it's easier when you're younger. The older you are the more attached you can get to someone, and the more it hurts when your heart breaks. Just remember, the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else.

i would probably think the opposite...when you are young that is all you know...it is the centre of your world and don't think anything can get better...when you are older you have more things going on and would be easier to deal with it...not saying that you won't hurt when older...but other variables come into play and allow for a higher probability of being easier when older...also depends on the person...is said person mel gibson or al gore?

Gerk, call a buddy and get on that plane. Seriously, best thing for you imo. Vegas is good remedy for alot of things, heartache one of them i'm sure.

if it was then probably a good idea to stay home; if it was not then by all means call a budy up and go anyway.

I think when you are younger you are more of a dickhead. More apathetic as you put it. At least I was. I had women everywhere when I was younger and I'd use 'em up and throw 'em away without a second thought. Then as I got older and they became fewer and further between, I tried to hang on longer and care more... Then I said f*ck it and got married. So, yeah, my life is over anyway.
