how does everyone 'cap' their 57 game hit streak?

just curious of the methods people use to do this. I, for instance, have Todd Helton in tomorrows game(goin for 8 in a row) and use this:

1) Helton 3 yr avg. @ home: .372
2) 3 yr avg vs. Righties: .352
3) career vs. pitcher: 2 for 2 (1.000)
4) current & last 7 days avg: .370/.333

thoughts/tips/suggestions??

just look for games that you expect a ton of runs, although sometimes you may get unlucky with the hitter that doesnt join the run party

i do that as well. I hitter could somethin like 14-29 against a guy in his career, but if i dont see alot of runs bein scored, i dont imagine him gettin more than 3 AB's so i might not pick him. Also, guys like Giambi who have good BA's but draw so many walks are scary, cause they could go 0-1, 3BB.

yeah, that's why go for a player you know isn't a major threat when bases are juiced. I stay away from pitcher friendly parks.

I Try To Take A Road Team Player Usually A 1 Thru 3 Hitter Because They Will Usually Get 4 Abs And Sometimes Even A 5th One Because No Matter The Score They Will Always Hit For 9 Innings.I Don't Do This All The Time But I Look For Them First.

where do u get this type of info? about career vs pitcher etc?

I try to pick games that will have lots of runs and also try to pick a serious where a good batter will get a hit in every game against bad pitching. For example I just took Jeter the Cheater in the last 3 matches vs KC

go to espn.com, click on the players name, then splits, then 2002-2005 stats and it lists everything from home/away/night/day/turf/grass/dome/etc....

right next to splits, theres 'batter vs pitcher', and you can see his lifetime stats vs. the entire teams pitchers.

i tried that today with pujols and he walked twice...I usually pick a hot hitter who is at home. I dont think i have chosen a hitter past the 5 spot this season. I usually check the batter v pitcher avg..
