Thumbs down How many of you have lost a loved one to Cancer?

Talking about Cancer in the other thread made me want to start a new thread about it...

It amazes me that you can't find many people who have not been affected in one way or another.

Me personally have lost my father, a grandfather and a father in law all to Cancer. They all had different types (lung, brain, esophogeal & stomach) and all suffered way to much. I have had a family friend lose a child, etc and the list goes on.

Hopefully 2008 and on, they will make more progress in finding a cure!

Lost an uncle and brother in-law. My mom is a cancer survivor (had cancer at age 28) and my dad is an esophogial cancer survivor. He went in for knee replacement surgery and his doctors noticed some abnomalities in his bloodwork that led to further testing and discovery of the cancer. Very early stages and aggressive treatment and he's been cancer free for 10 years. Doctors said another month it would have been all over for him........

Shark – Wow he is lucky. My father in law went really quick with Esophageal cancer and suffered real bad. He couldn’t eat or swallow and basically starved to almost death. He went from like 300lbs to 150 lbs.

Glad to hear some survivor stories

My sister-in-law is presently undergoing chemo for Inflammatory Breast Cancer (apparently, its the worst kind of breast cancer). She's only 38.

I have also had some survivors (mom and grandmother) many years ago. I kind of forget the good stories sometimes because the bad ones are so bad

Lost my Father to lung cancer. Lost my ex-wife to brain cancer. My wife is a breast cancer survivor. It has been 8 years and I cherish everyday we spend together. Also have had friends lose their lives to cancer. I also hope they make progress in 2008 and on Dr. Jack. It is a devastating disease. Very sorry to hear about your Father Dr. Jack. New he was sick but never new he passed away. God Bless.

Thanks Victor – he passed away this past Fathers Day but he is in a better place now. He was really starting to suffer for a while
