Question How to Reinstall Deleted Music Files?

Short and sweet :

Computer crashed friday

CPU Hard drive got wiped out somehow
"Raw data" reading he says ?
I couldn't bring up windows screen..

took it it shop
tech guy says its 9 yrs old

Consider yourself lucky
$ 50 bill to bring everything up to normal ,

I've seen 3 yrs get wiped out

In any event all music on media player
wiped out all I really care about

Easy way to Reinstall lost songs rather than go through
re-ripping everything ,
like recoverying lost files?

tried googling 3/4 dif't sites
didn't seem to help

thanks ..

Unfortunately you're more than likely out of luck on restoring. To prevent a future occurrence invest in a backup plan. Many years ago I ripped over 1000 CDs and categorized them by artist and album. To avoid losing them I invested in an external drive. I stored music on my internal laptop drive, but also backed up to the external drive.

Fast forward to today. I switched to a Mac, but still store a copy on my Mac and the external drive. As an added layer my Mac is backed up as well. The collection is up to well over 3000 full CDs worth of music. I'll be damned if I lose it.

Sorry about your situation and hope you can recover some of it.

Not sure what your time is worth, but if you make 20-30$+/hr 50$ not bad at all.. you can do it yourself though, but its not guaranteed you will be able to recover everything.,

Not to get too technical---I've saved a few pc drives or the files on them by popping them out and putting them in an external drive case ($15) and connecting to a macintosh.

Also check out Hiren's boot cd. If you can get someone to burn it for you you can start up from it and it will run XP off of the disk and it will view your HD like and external drive, you might be able to still see the music in there! All it takes is a computer and a blank cd to make one. Good luck.
