Question How would you handle this?

First a very special Happy Birthday to -----------

Okay here is the long story short.

We have a member who I doubt will read this thread but basically he changes his DOB in his profile in order to get the birthday points. Believe it or not, he has had 16 birthdays since January 1st of this year. lol

I am guessing he doesn't realize that this raises a red flag in the admin area and that we review these.

Now I don't want to turn off the automatic birthday points because of one idiot so I need some help on how to handle.

1. Just ban the user

2. Just turn off reward points

3. Let him go until he tries to cash and then fill him in

4. Don't say a word for now, see if he continues to do it, post updates in this thread and together we can just see how many more birthdays he has this year.

5. Give me a better idea - 100 points to the best idea. lol

Usually I would handle something like this privately, not trying to embarrass the member but in this case - he is just clearly a scammer. However I will not mention his name at this point but he's not a member that the average person would notice and he is not even like top 40 of total reward points. No need to guess

Now if he does view this section then I am sure he will read it and we'll never see him again. I am guessing he won't!

Oh and one more thing - I suspected this a short time ago, so I wanted to be sure it wasn't a system bug so I started watching the user. I have a screen shot of his DOB and then waited for him to change his DOB again - just to sure. SO I have watched this now a few times and have made sure there is no system bug & the user is purposely trying to scam the system.

His birthday log

I left off the dates as to not give away to many clues as to the user.

I think I would have a better understanding of the situation if I knew the member...then I could decide their fate...let us know lol! if not I would just take away all of his points and use them in a contest...

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

Take away the points he stole and double it. If he plays in any contests, refer him to this thread.

just ban him a day every month... that way he can never have points...

Call the thread Happy Ban Day...

I think you SHOULD call him out - send him a PM to stop or send him an email for him to stop if he isn't going to read this.

I like the reward points... gives us mallers something to wager against each other that's pretty harmless and won't have any of those "situations"
