Thumbs down Hurricane Ike

This one might be the worst of them all.

Hurricane Ike now a Category 4 storm
Staff and wire reports
11:00 PM EDT, September 3, 2008
Hurricane Ike has quickly grown into a Category 4 storm, though forecasters say it's still too early to tell where the powerful tempest will touch land.

Ike, the fifth hurricane of the 2008 storm season, began the day as a tropical storm but was upgraded to a Category 1 hurricane in the afternoon. The storm now has sustained winds of 135 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The hurricane is still moving west-northwest at 17 mph with is eye 610 miles northeast of the Leeward Islands, the Center said.

Damn Jack, this one looks like it could be bad. Here in Texas we have dodged the bullet twice this season and I hope you Florida guys can as well. Stay safe and if that thing is heading you way, get the f*ck out!

It's not yet. If it does it will be Mon-Tues of next week but if it goes where predicted, it might.

Whether it hits Florida or elsewhere it's going to be a giant.

The forecast path of the storm has Ike bypassing northern Haiti and heading into the Bahamas. After Cuba, Ike is forecast to move into the central Bahamas and to make landfall in South Florida" on Wednesday as a major (Category 3-to-5) hurricane.
