You are a wise man.

Not sure how the "crazy Steelers fans" enters the picture as you will find alot of the die hard Pirates fans arent Steeler crazies. Like many sports towns, lots of baseball fans who dont care much for football and/or hockey.

Only 2 of 6 divisions in MLB which have 3 teams with a winning percentage over .520 at this point in the season.

The AL East and the NL Central.

We will see what the Pirates are made of starting this Friday as they have 3 at home against St Louis, 4 at Atlanta and 3 at Philly. Their starting pitching has been solid and they have one of the most underrated bull pens in the league. If that continues, they wont "fall off" this year.

I just assumed most Pirates are Steelers fans and vice versa and that Pirates fans are less vocal because they've lost for so long

You would be surprised to know how many Pirates fans are not really Steelers fans. Sure recent history, lack of historical perspective, and little respect shown to the Pirates by the younger generation of fans has something to do with it. Like any other town, you see alot of band wagon fans coming out of the woodwork now.

But nobody over .540. Mediocre division.

AL East will have 3 over .540 and 2 over .600!

LOL, there are only 6 teams in MLB with records over .540 to date, 2 in the AL East and 2 in the NL East. Pirates 4th best record in the NL. They can only play who is on the schedule.

As for your prognosis, there will not be 2 teams over .600 in the AL east and will be hard pressed to have 3 over .540. We will see who is correct.
