i thought baseball wasnt a contact sport
just fractured 3 bones in my face playing the outfield on sunday....possibly gonna be needing facial reconstruction surgery. I know how johnny damon musta felt back a few years ago... dont let anyone tell you baseball isnt a tough sport haha

I did that to a guy - slid into 2nd base and hit the top of my head with his face... (I was reaching to catch a low throw) knocked him out and he puked chicken noodle soup... Don't think he needed surgery though.

OUCH that hurt! Hope it heals well for you jrobie79. Did that to a guy when I was attempting to turn a double play playing second base. The guy running from 1`st base never slid and I nailed him right in his left eye and it swelled shut. Felt bad about it, but it was an accident. Talked to the guy later on in the season when we played again and had some laughs about it.

yeah i called him off, i was CF, so i had the right of way, guess he didnt hear me, goin in for facial reconstruction surgery next wednesday, should be tons of fun.

its just a titanium plate under my eye to keep it from dropping so i dont look like sloth from the goonies, and one behind my cheek so my face isnt caved in.
