If you are in Canada......

Just curious if your big rugby win, has even made the news today?

I realise rugby is very much a minor sport in most parts of Canada. Still was probably your best rugby win in your history.

25-20 over Tonga in the rugby world cup here in NZ.

It was on youtube, but they have taken them down due to copyright.

ok.....there was alot of Canada support at the ground, alot looked they were tourists from Canada. At least 5K I would say.

This win will do quite abit for Canada rugby going forward.....but they have two very tough games to come vs France and NZ, gonna probably have to beat France to make the quarter finals. France is -10000 on the ML.
If they do the near impossible and beat France and make the QF's that would be massive for Canada rugby.

TSP can attest to this. Where we grew up, Rugby is huge (Oakville and Burligton). It was announced on the ride in this morning and on morning news.

Should I put some loose change on Canada to beat france?

What I will do is reply in this thread on gameday, as to whether I think you should or not. Game is on Sunday early am US time.

One thing for sure, they will be putting alot of energy now towards the French game, they will know its make or break. As they aren't going to beat NZ (not me being a homer, it just simply won't happen).

Have followed French rugby closely for awhile. They blow very hot and cold.
Will bump this thread on gameday.

Heres a homemade video of the last minute of the game. The TV coverage was much more dramatic/better, but ah well, better than nothing :

Canada is ranked 14th, Tonga 12th. (not a a really big uspet)

Also,Tonga sat 11 players that would normally play.
