I'm being freakin' audited......

Got the huge packet in the mail today--IRS wants to "examine" my 2006 tax return. No way I can get information on all the write-offs that I used......

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments....etc from you guys??

My advantage is that the company that I was a DM for in Western NY/NW Penn. is that I am still close with the people at the top, so they can vouge if need be. I am really stuck here--I did fly to Chicago NUMEROUS times on the same flight, same time, and same airport--but it was weekends--and was not for business--100% personal. Could I use this?? Or should I just take this in the ass??

Thanks guys!!

get a tax attorney. Try to find out exactly what it is u did to be audited. I was advised before not to offer too much info as it could be something they were never looking at and it could set them off on something else. I do Sales and travel alot and have alot of writeoffs so I found out that was my red flag. My attorney got what I needed and that was it. It wasnt a big deal for me but if ur chit is phucked up it ould be a big deal bol

Holy shit dude. That's scary. There's got to be some reason you can come up with to make it business related: Marketing? Sales? Trying to build new business relationships? -- gotta be something.

100% correct. Went through one 9 years ago and my tax attorney saved my ass. Here is an example of a question the IRS man asked me. I had 5000 square ft. of carpet put down 8 months prior and he said he wanted to see the old carpet. lmao I said I`m sure it is buried at the dump ground. lmao TMarra6, don`t let them rattle you.
