Im Happy Gas Prices Are Going Up

Lets be honest, there needs to be separation between the classes...currently there is not...many things have created a false impression of wealth and entitlement to those who, for lack of a better phrase, dont have either.

Lets face it, those without have all the same shit as those that have money...cell phones, cars w/ rims, gold, diamonds, houses, laptops, internet, vacations....just all purchased on fake money..credit, fake equity in which cash was given in a fake loan, credit that will never be paid, scams

Amercia is f*cked up right now, all oneblur. In the past there was more order, more clarity..no we are all materialistic assholes that feel we should have everyhting...baby boomers spoiled their kids too much

But Gas...not everyone can afford $5, 6, 7 a gallon...you gots to be the real deal to not have your life interrupted now...you got to be doing it.

All these folks with the fake lives cannot dig it, they must trade in their phones and stop buyibg $200 shoes...no more $40,000 cars , no more Escalades or Armadas unless you can really get down with $110 fill-ups..Less Kona Grill happy hours, less hi def, less concerts, less "VIP" (god I hate that one)

Now we restore order. Hopefully this will be the humbling of our country, god knows the last two or three generations need it.

AMEN, you hit it right on with this statement. People need to get back to reality. If you can't afford it and you don't want to work hard for it you don't deserve it. I love seeing the people making $12.00 an hour driving their caddy around thinking they are god just because they can lease it. People eating their $90.00 sushi for lunch and only eating half of it and they have no job. And don't even get me started on all of those idiots who signed sub prime house loans. They deserve it just for being uneducated.

Very thought provoking, I had never really thought of it that way, but it is certainly a valid viewpoint with harsh truths.

People these days have no respect for money and are far more concerned with getting "stuff" and living large than focusing on building real wealth. Live within your means. Don't lease or mortgage your life away on things you don't need just to look like you are a big shot. Live in a smaller house, or rent a place, and drive a small car if that's what your income dictates you should be doing. It's amazing how many lowlifes I see walking around listening to IPods. Hmmm, I would think there are better ways to spend their limited funds, but of course, gotta look cool and have the newest and greatest whatever it is, irrelevant as to whether one can really afford it.

As far as sub-prime mortgages go, the blame falls on both sides. The people who signed up for them should have known better than to think that there was really some way that they could afford what they were getting into.

Having said that, and maybe this is too idealistic, but I think the lenders and the institutions they represent have some kind of social or moral responsibility to deny these trailer trash the mortgages, because they know that these people can't possibly follow through on their commitment. But of course they are all greedy and couldn't give a damn about anyone else, and making the dollar is what is most important, so the feeding frenzy began, and now look at what a mess it all is.

So now we have a society filled with irresponsible, lazy, materialistic people with no respect for money or hard work, and a financial system rubbing its hands with glee to indulge their whims.

Nice world we have created for ourselves, how much lower will we have to sink before some sanity re-emerges?

really though I think most people are making a bigger deal out of gas prices than it really is. If an extra 100 bucks a month or so in gas is gonna change your lifestyle you weren't really living within your means in the first place. It does kinda seam like traffic is thinned out a little so in a way it's good I guess.

when i was refilling gas the first time in my first car, i paid exactly 1€ per litre... now the prize is 1.60€, i drive around 25k kilometres per year... and when i don't press too much on the paddle i stay between 7 and 8 litres per 100 km...

250 * 7 (8) * .60€ = makes sth between 130$ and 155$ per month extra in a timespan of less than 7 years... on average a german earns 16k€ a year (after taxes) for consume and rents... so a lil less than 25k$ but within last years those had to spend around 2k$ a year of those 25k$ for GAS... blowing money into arab oil multi asses... and taking those $ wich could be spend on other consume goods wich would boost teh economy... and we aint at the peak of the gas prize... i mean, i don't care about the gas prize, but i see global economical problems coming to the entire world... and it's not like the US economy could use another 'problem'.

and those are just the MORE cost for gas in the tank of the car! not to speak of the $ we blow up those asses again in cold winters when heating or boiling water. energy is and will be an expensive good in future... and just 2 or 3 weeks ago, i read about an Oil Tycoon from Dubai that buys 'alternative technologies' and such stuff, dunno the exact term... but the idea behind: delaying the development of alternative energies that could replace oil before we (world's population) used all teh oil... the prize for oil isnt rising coz we run out within 5 or 10 years... just all the developping 3rd world countries and china are hungry for energy aswell and the oil producing countries hit the maximum at their valves already...

oilprize of $200 per barrel in 2010

I've heard that in the 60's-80's Ford and General Motors in the U.S. were approached quite a few times with blueprints on these "alternative technologies" that threatened their business survival. The cost varied $1M to $12M. I'm not surprised that they're hitting the Arab Oil Tycoons now for more money cuz that's where it's at--wouldn't be surprised if they ask $100M+.
