I'm new & got a stat question

The sign on the door says I can ask questions in here. Here goes. Does anyone know how to determine "forced turnovers" from available basketball stats?

Steals + def rebounds? Is there more to it? Is there a correlation with ast/to ratio?

Welcome to cappersmall. I don't think it's as sime as that because travel, other violations can also be forced turnover

Thanks for the welcome Dr Jack. Off foul, 3 seconds, errant pass, to say the least. I saw it in a formula for determining effort or hustle but can't seem to come up with good forced t/o stat.

Thanks for the links. I really like the game matchup stat page. Everything all there. I think a bonafide forced t/o stat may be in the future or in the coach's office. It would seem to take detail play-by-play records.

I follow your threads and appreciate your posts.
