If you wanted to change the channel you'd have to get off the sofa and turn the knob on the television.

Out of the house before 8 a.m. and didn't come home until the streetlights came on, my Parents had no idea where we were and that was OK.

Walking to school by myself in kindergarten was expected and there was no one home when it was over.

I'm so old that, I can remember when Spark was 40!

Transistor radio's (lordy what will they think of next).
The AFC KC Chiefs were the Dallas Texans, kids under 15 yrs of age, could watch them play in the Cotton Bowl for FREE, w/a coupon clipped out of the newspaper. (Times Herald).

*I used to work for Alpha Beta (supermarket chain bought by Ralphs) as a bag boy.

*I used to eat Quisp, King Vitamin, Kaboom, Fruit Brute and Honey Smacks (the box with the Banana Splits character Fleegle on it) cereals when I was tot.

*I used to listen to my classic 45 rpm vinyl records on the ol' Kenwood Turntable.

I remember listening late at night on my transition radio and I could pick up this station in Arkansas or Louisiana that played new records as they just came out. I heard this song by the Animals and loved it. Tried describing it to my friends next day at school as to how it went and of course they had no clue. I missed hearing the name of it but then it was on the next night and has been one of my favorites ever since. I always claimed that I " discovered " it haha. Of course it's House of The Rising Sun

Falling asleep with a transition radio under my pillow listening to the Houston
Colt 45's back in the projects in New Orleans..Also remember getting in trouble at
school for listening and yelling when Bill Masaraski hit the homer to win World Series.

Black and white tv.

Remember the day JFK was shot like it was yesterday. Most memories as a child are just a blur but I was 8 years old on that November day and it will be the one event of my childhood I will never forget.

Buying gas $2 worth at a time.

Taking those cards and clipping them to my bike tires with a clothes pin to make it sound motorized.

Wacky Wafers.

I believe the Willy Wonka Candy Company discontinued this candy. Can't find them anywhere. My 2 favorite flavors were banana and watermelon.

In 1962 I bought a "nickle bag of pretzels and a Mars bar" from high school candy store after lunch for a silver dime.

No inflation; A "bag of pretzels and a Mars bar" still trade for a silver dime ($1.60 today) but give a new dime change.
