Increase Bet unit size?
For people who play flat betting system, how often do u guys increase your unit , when you win 20 ?, 50? , 100? percent of the intial bankroll? Do u then divide it to percentage of bankroll.
What do u recommend for a person who plays 200 even plays and hit 60 percent of them. Im thinking of 10 percent bet size and increase every 50 percent of my bankroll. Any advice guys. |

Here is what I do, I have an Excel spreadsheet that automaticall calculates my total bankroll by combining the balance in each of my book's accounts. The spreadsheet further calculates bet size for me by using the formula's I have input. The formula's include never bet more that 1% of total bankroll on any one bet, never have any more than 10% of my bankroll out at any one point in time, and increase my bet unit size each time my bankroll increases by 25%. You have to have a dence bankroll to use this theory, but it protects against losing streaks and provides stready profit.

Good input. Do u ever decrease your bet size then? I guess I use 10 percent of my bankroll is because i dont play many games, 1 game a day even bet.

Absolutely, the decrease occurs if I lose 25% of my bankroll.

I try to stay with this basic money management system:
This is based on percentage of bankroll and not unit size itself. 1. No more than 3-5 bets per day, most being 3-5% of my total bankroll. 2. Never, never, never place a single bet more than 10% of total bankroll and that really should be a rare bet. 3. Never, never, never have more than 25% of total bankroll wagered at any one time. Using this system will automatically raise and lower your wager amount according to the size of your bankroll. It will generate more profit during winning streaks and limit exposure during losing streaks. This works for me, but the most important thing is to find or develop a money management system that works for you and stick to it. I've been gambling a long time and have had my share of ups and downs like everyone else on here, I'm sure. And on a lighter side...try not to gamble when you and your wife get sideways. I've been guilty of betting too much when she's being a bitch. Also, I have just added a new rule to my system. I will not drink or gamble with "mybuckinears" because I too have in the past increased my bet amount when drinking. Something about "Booker's" bourbon makes me think I can't lose. Good luck |

For me I started with one unit = 0.5 % of my bankroll.
For ex, $10/unit for $2000 bankroll (at start) After that, every $200 increase in bankroll, increase unit size by $1. So when the bankroll doubles, so does the unit value. Hence, I will always have 200 units in my bankroll. The same aplies for losses and widthdrawals. Max 4 units (2%) per bet. I try to keep 80% or more of my bankroll intact at all times. |
