Info and tips on buying tickets to an NFL Game for Canadians ?

Folks, I am looking to get 2 tickets to the Washington Redskins/NY Giants game on December 30/2006 down in Washington and am just wondering if you guys have ever bought tickets on-line to an NFL game and if you can share any tips/tidbits ?

Is there a favorite website that you guys go to get tickets ? I have checked out eBay, StubHub, GoTickets.com and let me tell you they are not cheap!!, especially for lower level seats.

Is it better to buy straight from the team (not sure if the game is sold out or not) or to keep hunting down for deals (people can't be selling the tickets more than the face value, can they ?)

How much do you guys normally pay for NFL tickets (not season ticket) and is it alright to see the game from the upper level or we might need binoculars ?

Is it possible to go there without tickets and get them from a scalper outside the stadiums ? We will probably stay for a few days and check out the city since it is the New Year but the primary goal would be to go see the football game.

Thanks fellas.

P.S. Has anyone been to Redskins Park ? Would you consider seats in the 400-level OK in terms of viewing pleasure ?

As much as I hate it, you can find good deals on FleaBay.

I shall help you out here.

Ebay is the way to go for these.

1. You will not buy tickets from the team---game is sold out

2. If you do buy offline, make sure you they include a parking pass for the game.

3. Tix to this game can easily be had by a scalper on the streets outside the stadium but you likely will not get a parking pass but that's not 100% either as I have seen scalpers selling those also( These are a bigger value than the tix)

4. Check the local newspapers for people selling them. Check the classified adds in the newspaper called "The Capital" which is sold in the Annapolis area.

5. You can get these face value most likey which will be $75 and up and figure about $20-30 for the parking pass. If the game means anything towards the playoff, you will pay more.

6. Redskins Stadium is not that great IMO but is better than it was since it first opened but it's not all that. Section 400 is high up but the view is a good one but high above everything. You will have a good time.

7.Not sure where you plan on staying but DO NOT stay in PG County unless someone directs to the proper places and be careful as to the places you stay in DC. Annapolis is a nice place to stay/visit and is 15-20min. to the Stadium and 30min. to downtown DC

8. If you visit DC on your trip, please behave yourself as I will be watching you

Anything else?

Thanks Pimp for the reply, i have also checked out craigslist and there is a fair share of tickets available for sale. I guess i will worry about the logistics like hotels (will try Priceline again) and transportation after. I just need to get the tickets first.

Wow you are scaring me a bit about places to stay. Should i pack some heat or what bro ? LOL but I will do some more research about that later.

Steel, the timing suits me fine, it's the holidays so i can take some time off work as well.

Just would hate to see you stay someplace that is in a dirtbag part of town. Would completely ruin your trip.

If you need advice on places, let me know and I can steer you in the right direction as can some others on here from Maryland/Virginia.

let me know and leave the heat at home for sure....I thought all Canadians were anti-gun also?

I hear ya Rome, I would love to go see my favorite team, the Rams, play but it's all about the timing i guess

This game is on Saturday Dec 30 so we figure we can drive/fly down there in the morning, check in the hotels and come out for the game in the night time, then check out the city on Sunday, some shopping here and there and come back on Monday which is a holiday and enough time for me to get back to work on Tuesday Jan 2nd

Will have more Qs to ask you fellas later, i don't go down to the States very often (no family there, nothing business related either) so each trip is definitely something special LOL.
