No minimum. You have to have enough in your account to cover the margin. The margin is the maximum you can lose.

A contract expires at either 0 or 100. If the National League wins tonight that contract goes to 100. If the American League wins tonight the contract goes to 0.

Let's say you want 10 units of the National League tonight to beat the American Leauge. Let's say the 'ask' (buy) price is now $54. Your 10 units (at .10 per share) is .1 X 10 X 54, or $54.00. Your maximum gain in this example is $46.00....your maximum loss is $54.00. You must have at least $54.00 in your account to make the bet.

To purchase the American League in this you would do the opposite. You would sell the shares....like shorting a stock position.

Of course you control the number of shares (units) you purchase. You can also buy and sell shares throughout the game....which is the fun part. I am looking forward to doing this during the NFL season.

It is not as complicated as it sounds. I suggest doing the demo at home....it is excellent.

Let me know if this helps or confuses you more.

I think I understand....so in your example, I could buy 2 units for 10.80 with a chance to win 9.20. I do like the idea of being able to buy and sell during the game....that would make it pretty damn exciting to be watching the games. I'll have to try the demo from home tonight. Thanks.

That is correct.

Yeah...it does add a lot to watching the game.

Good luck. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

I have done something very similar in the past for "free" but haven't tried this one. I did look at it and may sign up. Not sure yet. Limited resources and all<laugh>

Gawd TT, that was literally years ago<laugh> and at my age the memory fades quick. I do remember that it was set up very similarily but as opposed to sports games in particular you would be able to do this on various stock market indexes, prices, etc, elections, a wide variety of things. Wish I could tell you more but I will say that I remember enjoying the experience. Was more 'interactive' than just placing a wager.

I just checked sandbox.com, because I remembered seeing something like "Wall Street Sports" on there. It seems like that is where you could do it free, but they are apparently redoing the site or something and it is not presently up and running. It does seem like it's very similar to tradesports, except no real money.

Hey TT, is there ever a time when you try to sell your contracts but can't because nobody is buying?

You can usually sell your contract up until the end of the game. However, the rub is at what price. Obviously you will not get the price you want all the time....

Seems to me THAT was the fun of the whole thing. It wasn't just being able to "cap" something right, it could also be allllllllll about timing. Kept you working on things rather than placing a bet and forgetting about it.

TT, I joined them about 3 months ago and I still have not figured out how to make a trade. They give you the free 20.00, when I joined it was(35.00), Most or all of the trades are for a higher amount. What exactly do you do to make a trade, buy or a sell. I tried many times with no success till i have dwindled the 35.00 down to about 15.00. Where is this flash demo. I'd like to take a look at it. I see alot of people using in game betting, but I just don't know how to do it. HELP TT

Hey Showell....glad to see you here.

I started with their $20 trading credit and worked it up to about $100....promptly lost that back down and loaded some of my own bankroll. Doing nicely with it.

You can trade for very little. Look at my example up top concerning the All Star game. If you look at taking smaller positions...5 shares or even less...you can work the $$'s higher if you bet correctly. Of course it is more fun with more money. But it can be done. I have seen a number of guys in other forums who "claim" they have worked it up to quite a bit.

You can find the demo on their website. (I am assuming this is Tradesports) At their home page it is the first link under information. Give that a whirl....

Let me know if you have more questions.
