Interesting coincidence.... West Virginia to add poker rooms

Legislation just passed today in the House to have poker rooms (and other table games) in West Virginia at their race tracks. (It does still need to pass the Senate)

I find it so maddening that, while the federal government pulls all of these ridiculous stunts to stop online gaming, we find poker rooms and other forms of gambling popping up all around us.

Not that I'm unhappy about finally having a poker room within an hour of the DC area.....

But it's just ridiculous. We all obviously know this isn't about protecting kids and the American public from the evils of gambling. It's about a painful transition from offshore Caribbean sportsbooks and poker sites to brick-and-mortar gambling facilities run by our own government.
