Any good apps? Hardly any quality free ones I see

Any recommended ones?

I have a friend who has one that allows him to link up to security cameras outside his house--so he can see what is going on at his house.

I am NOT one of those techno guys (I don't even own an iPod !!) but I was impressed with the iPad. It's like a mini-laptop, without the phone.

I'd compare it more to a big iphone without the phone. It can do a lot of things a laptop can though

So this begs the question, just discussing it with a partner, so why not stick with my top-end laptop. Why would I want the Ipad?? That's my view. What's the sell for the Ipad. just curious.

edit: it just can't be about size can it..(although size does matter they say..lol)

the only thing that stopped me from getting one is that it's the same price basically that we paid for each of the macbooks we bought from ebay....just replaced the harddrives......it's pretty damn cool but can't see using it over a laptop just to get a bigger screen than my iphone

I don't think you'd want it to replace a laptop. It has some convenience that iPhone doesn't have & for Internet or email only it might be better than a laptop but I think it's not a replacement for a laptop
