iPhone 4 upgrade

They shipping next day now, no more waiting period.

Anyway got my iphone4 - for those who got the new phone, what's best way to change it over? Did you backup your old iphone first? And if yes, is it like a 5-6 hour thing?

TIA

Just do a backup of your old phone, then restore to the new phone. The restore takes less than an hour depending on how much you had on your old phone. Also with IOS 4.1 just released you'll probably have to upgrade the software too. I restored from a 4 month old backup and everything still worked fine. I switched to an Android phone for 4 months, hence the gap in time.

Good luck.

When I started to backup, it said 6 hours remaining time - is that possible? Holy smokes, I don't have the patience for that. lol

Ok I have a question(s)

1.) how do I backup my phone

B.) Can I backup my phone and then restore it not 4.0, I would like to restore it to a previous OS. I hate 4.0 in the 3GS

III.) how long does this normally take

I want nothing to do with 4.0, if I do a full restore I believe the only thing I lose is MMS, I can live with that, but I can no longer live with safari refreshing after using SportCenter. I had to close the window, then use the app.

It shouldn't be 6 hours. That time is an estimate and usually drastically decreases once the process starts. If your back takes 6 hours, it might be time to visit the Apple Genius Bar. Thats not normal..

If you have lots of pics on your phone, this link might be relevant. Hope it helps.

Seanie

Restoring to a previous version is fairly easy, but be careful. Might I suggest upgrading to version 4.1 to see if it fixes your issue. If not, you can always still downgrade. Anyway, check the attached link for downgrading. Several sites out there with instructions. Good luck..

Okay it looks like I got this.

I couldn't get old one to backup. I had to download apps to computer & then I deleted all my apps, photos.

Now I'm on iphone4, have my contacts, emails, bookmarks, etc but I have to figure out how to get my apps & iPod songs.

The old one still works with the wifi connection.

What about folders on the 4. Anyone know how to set that up?

What else can I do?

Screen resolution is awesome
