IRS Email. Bogus?

Received an email from "internal revenue service" the other day saying:

IRS notice,

There are arrears reckoned on your account over a period of 2010-2011 year.
You will find all calculations according to your financial debt, enclosed.
You have to sick the debt by the 17 December 2011.

Yours sincerely,
Internal Revenue Service.

Has an attachment, but im def not opening it in case of a virus.
anyone else seen this before? Looks bogus to me.

Ignore it. If it is true, they will knock on your door..Then you would have a decision to make.

Open the door, or yell "Fak You"

no government offices uses email instead of a courier service or US mail ... not yet at least. ignore the email and delete that shit.

Yes they use USPS mail not email

Fraudulent, What they do is tell you to call them and pay xxx amount of money to get your account in good standing. People even give them all their personal identifying information.
