Just watched his interview on ESPN.

Q: How do you plan to get players to FIU?
A: I'm prepared to work hard and get out and beat the bushes.
Translation: I don't know.

Q: What do you plan to do over the next two months?
A: I'm prepared to sit down and evaluate what I need to do.
Translation: I don't know.

Q: What do you plan to say to parents who ask you about your sexual harrassment charges?
A: This has been a tough two years for my family, but a lot of these parents know me, some of them named their kids after me.
Translation: I don't know.

Q: Did you try to commit suicide?
A: I like living, and I plan to live.
Translation: Yes. (why don't you just say "no" to this question!?!?! what is wrong with you???)

It went on like that forever. Hard, direct questions. But I didn't ever hear a direct answer about anything. Just a steady stream of BS coming out of his mouth. If he's not an idiot, he's the worst interviewee in the history of everything.

In his answers to the hard questions, it was obvious he was trying avoid the questions with generic nonsense. A smarter person would have been much smoother, and would have been better prepared. Chris McKendry kept letting him off the hook. His answers to the FIU questions indicated that he is really unprepared for the job. My guess would be that FIU doesn't care, because they've got "Isiah Thomas."

As for not giving the media anything to run with, don't do the interview. Showing up and sounding like an idiot, along with not giving a cut-and-dry answer to the always-difficult "Did you try to kill yourself?" question, is giving them something. They may not editorialize on-air, but they're laughing at him in the halls.

You are correct BDQH! He's the ultimate "big fish in a little pond" at FIU. He'll eat up all the praise at FIU. For some reason, his stupidity just made me angry this morning.
