Jimmy K Rants (Episode V)

So, I'm watching FOX news the other day and all of a sudden a story comes on about a possible trans-fat ban in NYC. Surely you jest, I thought to myself, nobody would be this f'ing stupid and go this far would they? But sure enough Bloomberg and the health police are at it again. I'll tell you, for someone who calls himself a Republican, he sure is a little liberal bitch. First the asshole bans smoking and now he wants to ban french fries from McDonald's. This is a complete joke, who the hell is Michael Bloomberg to tell me or anyone else that we can't eat some french fries because they are bad for us. Well, no shit they are bad for us, everybody knows that but if someone wants to eat shit food every day and kill themselves that is their right as an American. Not only will he piss off the average restauranteur and customer, but he will piss off the NYPD as well, after all donuts have plenty of trans-fat in them and if the cops can't have a donut, they may go on strike or start a coup!

I'm sick and tired of these liberal pricks trying to protect us from ourselves, I mean take the smoking ban for instance, who the f*ck is the state of NY, CA, NJ or anyone else to tell a business owner that they can't have a smoking section? You know what, f*ck the customers who don't like smoking, if they don't like it they don't have to come in to the restaurant/bar. I personally don't smoke, can't stand the shit, but if I go to a bar I expect to come out smelling like the A-Team van after Hannibal spent the day smoking a cigar. I don't need the gov't to protect me, if I don't want to go to smoke infested dive bar I won't go it's that f'ing simple. The fact that some of these govt's don't believe that we as Americans can make our own decisions is bullshit, and any politician who tries this shit should be thrown the hell out of office.

Anyway, back to this pending crisis. Trans-fat is horrible for you, we all know this. It can lead to heart disease and eventually heart attacks, but who gives a shit? As Americans we all have the right to make our choices, I mean isn't that why this country was founded? The forefathers got tired of the Brits telling them that they couldn't choose which brand of deodarent to use so George Washington threw all the right guard into the Atlantic and declared independence by using only speed stick? Wait, that might have been a Simpsons episode. Fact of the matter is that if Pasco wants to order the entire Arby's menu on a daily basis or if Jack wants to sit down and eat 3 dozen dunkin donuts when he should be getting the new servers set up those are their choices, it's not up to Michael Bloomberg to tell them that they can't.

This is a slippery slope my friends, first cigarettes, now everything that tastes good, what's next liquor again? Or maybe some liberal punk will think that anything that is red is bad for us, so no more apples, tomato's, and even worse again no more red m&m's.

Anyway, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong (but I doubt it)...

The American public is generally pretty stupid about food choices. This move to ban trans fats is awesome in my opinion if only to get the topic out in the open for debate. Partially hydrogenated oil does nothing but help kill people in the long haul - it has no benefit whatsoever and can be replaced by natural oils easily.

A ban is extreme and probably won't or can't be upheld, but at least people are talking about it and starting to think about their health. This country is in serious danger with the food choices we make. I go abroad and see other countries eating extravagant meals yet their populations are far healthier than we are because (IMO) of the quality of ingredients in the food they eat.

I agree that trans-fat is horrible and things can be made healthier. But, it's everyone's choice of how to eat. I don't touch McD's or any other fast food unless there is absolutely nothing else to eat, but that's my choice. If other people want to eat that crap it's their right.

Agree on trans fat but this country was founded on the premise of the LAND OF THE FREE... And every year we keep cutting down on some personal choice issues.. Its just the start of the snowball... Cigs... Foods...Gambling online.. Searches in the name of terror ( property & body)... Drug testing ( not for most goverment employes or police forces of course) ...Prostitution...Having TWO and ONE HALF beers and be called drunk...08 in Pa.. Give me a break.. DUI pullovers at 2:00 A.M when of course all the FAMILIES are out driving around(at 2:00 its fellow drunks do it at 9:00 when the families are out ) .. People in jail for minor drug possesion while rapists run free with a slap on the wrist.. Freaking Moral Majority is making this country a freedom free place to live.. Cameras everywhere will be next..

This is a good one Jimmy.
But I'm confused about the politics of it. Isn't it the Conservatives who want to protect us from ourselves?
I thought Liberals were cool with us making choices for ourselves -- like say gambling, prostitution, marijuana, abortion, porn, etc... and it was Conservatives who want to ban all the good stuff...

Yea freaking Conservatives are all about screwing this country up.. Abortion is a perfect example they CARE SO MUCH about the unborn baby till the minute it comes OUT OF THE WOMB.. Then pow its all yours Lady sorry about us cutting unwed baby care and welfare.. But hey, aint life grand now ... If the freaking cinservatives care so much, kick in cash for the poor kid.. But NO they could care less at this point.. Bush is the worst type a born again Christian aka I had my fun and did my blow and shots of Tequilla when I was young but now I am BORN AGAIN and we will have no more of this... Yea right George... Get a job for once in your life that did not come from daddys influence.. Sorry forgot he did run a OIL COMPANY into the ground... To think people abroad think he is the best and brightest man available for the job to run the USA..
