Thumbs down Judge continues ban on BOS through 8/14

Judge extends BETonSPORTS' ban on US bets
Monday, Jul 31, 2006

ST. LOUIS - A federal judge on Monday extended for a second time her order barring BETonSPORTS Plc from taking wagers from U.S. bettors.

Prosecutors suggested the extension until August 14 while they answer questions posed by U.S. District Judge Carol Jackson concerning whether the online Bookmaker was served with the charges correctly at its offices in Britain and Costa Rica.

The U.S. attorney in St. Louis had asked the judge to make the ban on U.S. bets permanent. BETonSPORTS has complied with the order so far.

BETonSports did not show up for the hearing.

This is the legal equivalent of forfeit. If they believed they had any chance they would have at least sent a representative, but it appears that most are so afraid of jail that they have literally left their respective countries.

Not true. BOS was not charged in the indictment and having thrown Carruthers to the wolves, had no need to be at his hearing.

I agree............they are scared of jail but at least an attorney could show up without that prob??? I feel bad for these phone operators..........either they know and are getting as many work days in as possible, or they don't know what's coming............management may have them buffaloed as well................i asked to speak to a manager today on the phone and was on hold for ever, so I just hung up.............chicken wipes! Maybe next time, I show up and pretend I am an attorney and see what happens..........LOL!

with all due respect, they may need to get wagering going again, if they want to stay in business. I will be surprised to get my money, if i do.......I will post a big thread of me eating a deer turd sandwich!!!!

Even if they were not charged they obviously have a dog in the hunt considering they were included in a cease and desist order on operations. They had to know that no representation would lead to a default judgement against them. Not sending representation to defend their operations and open up the doors again is a legal forfeit.

Today's hearing was for Carruthers and others indicted. There was really no point in BOS's corporate attorneys being present.

this does nt surprise me, and i dont know how anyone from the united states is getting through on the phone lines. All internet and phones in the united states have been disconnected from contacting betonsports. And dont forget everyone outside of the united states is still playing there. Its to bad because I thought betonsports had the best sportsbook/casino/poker in the bussiness
