Just thinking about the Rockies & the "7 Plays To Get Paid" thread ...
Just sitting here wondering & wishing how lucky I would be if I caught onto this Rockies streak early enough & actually rode it to where it is now??? Thinking of systems where you progressively raise your bets with each win ...
Because you know somewhere out there is a diehard Rockies fan & gambler who threw down $100 (let's assume, since that's a reasonably common bet) on the game that began this madness ... & maybe they bet the next game after they won, maybe they didn't, but surely after a few games, this diehard fan bet the Rockies again & won ... again! Up $200, surely it was easy to lay any price for another $100 shot in bet #3 & if so, another winner. Now at this point, a diehard fan may have begun entertaining thoughts of riding this streak. Maybe they kept their next bet at $100, but there are a lot of dumb bettors out there, so maybe he greedily & stupidly jacked his 4th bet to win $200 ... it doesn't really matter if it was dumb or not, because it won ... again! Up $500 & COL is roughly 5 games into their 11 game win streak. Greed makes the next bet to win $300 ... win ... next to win $500 ... win ... $1,000? ... already up $1,500 or so, so why not? ... win, pocket a little, bet again & again ... win, win, win, win ... LOSS! the dream run has ended, but our betting hero (we know he exists) has pocketed some nice change & although crushed by the huge loss, why not throw down $100 once more & see what happens ... if it loses, quit & pocket some nice change, if it wins, who knows? ... win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win ... another 9 straight wins. Somewhere out there is a greedy little bastard that keeps raising his bets bigger than he should. I would love to shake him & ask what the hell he is doing, but I can't find him anywhere? Maybe he was betting more than $100 & greedier than I thought. Maybe he's on his new yacht today? or picking out his new car? Greedy little bastard ...
