Laptop advice

Since my recent job acquisition I am able to afford a new laptop and looking for advice on which one's are good? Looking for one thats around top of the line since I want it to have all the goodies and last for a while. Suggestions needed...thanks

need to know more about your needs before reccommending something. is the laptop needed for serious lugging around and travel (i.e. light and portable) or you basically gonna let the thing sit on a desk at home most of the time to replace a desktop?

different brands do each of these scenarios better than others.

Dell XPS series and a couple of the higher end Inspirons do quite well also in my experiences.

well its gonna be used at home a lot on a desk, but also not too heavy because will need to take it when travelling...we'll see

You do realize that 7 months in the computer industry is like 1-2 years in another one right? I'd say its legit to start a new thread especially with the introduction of new models guy...but thanks for the attempted schooling
